Job Title: Nursery Apprentice

Due to very high numbers of enrolments of children joining our nurseries, we have another job opening with an immediate start.

This is a full-time role. There is no official qualification needed for this role, but you will be someone who is dynamic, has the ability to work as part of a team, be able to use your initiative and time manage your day effectively to ensure the smooth running of our nursery. Having worked with children before is desirable but not essential. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team and to work closely with the Nursery Manager, the core management team and the Directors. The apprenticeship gives successful candidates the flexibility to work and earn money alongside studying towards your qualification. You really can ‘learn on the job’. The senior team at the nursery will support you through your assignments and we invest a lot of training into our apprentices. Normally, assessors visit the nursery and there is little/ no obligation to go to college, work can be done in the nursery and at home.

The nurseries have excellent reputations and we want to maintain the excellent standards that the nursery has already been accredited for during our Ofsted inspections.

You will be someone who is mature, experienced and focused on delivering excellent standards of care with a natural ability to work as part of a team and always be willing to go above and beyond.

Essential Requirements (All can be obtained through nursery)💡

  1. DBS certificate/ Clean criminal record
  2. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  3. Paediatric First Aid certificate
  4. Safeguarding children certificate

We are also looking for someone who….

  • Has a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
  • Is able to laugh at jokes they don’t understand or don’t find funny!
  • Preferably has a little bit of quirkiness.
  • If a child requests that they be a captain of a pirate ship, they will be the best pirate captain they can be!
  • Doesn’t have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune, but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
  • Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
  • Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
  • Must have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
  • Must have the ability to read a ten-page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
  • Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
  • Loves being outside come rain or shine. At Honey Pot we love the great outdoors.
  • Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like it.

Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Due to very high numbers of enrolments of children joining our nurseries, we have another job opening with an immediate start.

Full time is desirable but we will consider part-time applicants dependent on the needs of the Nursery. The qualification required for this role is at least an NVQ level 2 in childcare, however an NVQ3 in childcare/ Early Years Educator or above is desirable. You will be someone who is dynamic, has the ability to work as part of a team, be able to use your initiative and time manage your day effectively to ensure the smooth running of our nursery. Having worked with children before is essential, ideally for at least 2 years. This does not mean that we would not consider applications from those with less experience. Excellent knowledge of the EYFS is essential and the ability to plan appropriate activities and complete observations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team and to work closely with the Nursery Manager, the management team and the Director.

The nurseries have excellent reputations and we want to maintain the excellent standards that the nursery has already been accredited for from our recent excellent Ofsted inspections.

There may be some flexibility for those employees who have children of school age depending on the needs of the business. The nursery owners are all parents of young children themselves and understand the challenges in juggling a work/ home life. At Honey Pot, we want to support our employees as much as we can to help them balance their work/ home life.

Part-time work applications may be considered and could be accommodated depending on the needs of the business.
Term time only applications may also be considered however, this depends on the needs of the business.

Honey Pot Aigburth is a large detached house situated on Aigburth Road in South Liverpool and was the first nursery owned by Honey Pot Nursery Group. It opened its doors to the public in July 2007 and has gone from strength to strength since. The nursery has a baby room, a pre-toddler room, a toddler room and a pre-school room. It also has a sensory room and an outdoor garden and a separate baby garden. The children also have access to local parks within the vicinity and children go on regular outings and local walks.

Honey Pot Allerton is a large detached house situated on Childwall Valley Road within the residential area of Childwall in South Liverpool. Formally a doctors surgery, the building underwent a huge renovation in early 2012 to make it purposely designed for the sole use of a day nursery. It benefits from a baby room, a toddler room and a pre-school room. It also has a sensory room, outdoor garden and separate baby garden
To the rear, we have a purposely designed garden room for children to enjoy uninterrupted play both indoors or outdoors.

Garston underwent a huge renovation in 2019 and now benefits from a baby room, a pre-toddler room, a toddler room, pre-school room, a sensory room, a library, and plenty of other communal play spaces. In addition, it has a large outdoor play area and designated baby garden. The nursery is located close to Garston village which offers the opportunity for children to go on local outings to the park, library and train station amongst many other regular outings.

The building has also been adapted to include a large training suite and head office where the central support team are based. All of our staff are trained at this site on a regular basis which helps us to achieve outstanding practice. In addition, it benefits from a baby room, a pre-toddler room, a toddler room, pre-school room, a school leavers room, a sensory room, a library, and plenty of other communal play spaces. In addition, it has a large outdoor play area, a designated baby garden and a designated toddler garden.

Honey Pot Allerton is situated within the grounds of Bridge Chapel Community Centre, off Heath Road in South Liverpool. Honey Pot Allerton is a recently renovated nursery which cares for children aged 18 months to 5 years. It is also a Breakfast Club, Afterschool Club and Holiday Club for primary school aged children who attend local schools Gilmour primary school and Springwood Heath. It caters for children requiring childcare term time only or those requiring care 51 weeks per year.
