“We just want to say a big thank you to all the staff for all the hard work they do every day. My son was so excited to return to the original nursery site, we are so impressed by all of the effort throughout the past year to ensure the children have continued to receive the same high quality care and learning experiences throughout this journey. We feel so lucky that our son is part of the Honey Pot community, he is a very happy boy and we have always felt so content leaving him with staff who go above and beyond every day.” – A parent from Honey Pot Garston.

"I couldn't believe how much my son’s key person prepared for his first day at nursery. She overheard me telling management on the viewing how much he loves motorbikes so she had set up the whole room as motorbike themed. She had a tray with all different vehicles in and she also had paper out with different pictures of motorbikes on for him to copy. Then in the garden she had set up a car wash activity. I can't believe how much effort she put in. It was so lovely." -  A parent from Honey Pot Wavertree

“I chose Honeypot because of its excellent reputation. The management team were great at the initial viewing and the nursery has a very welcoming feel to it. Everyone is helpful and friendly; staff from all rooms seem to know my son well and always acknowledge us which is very reassuring! The nursery communicates well with parents and are very good at always looking at ways to improve in order to offer the best to the children and help with their development. The staff looking after my son understand him and his needs.  This is very reassuring to know the work being done and action plan in place is tailored towards him, giving him the best opportunities for his development.” – A parent from Honey Pot Aigburth

“My child has settled into Honey Pot brilliantly. He was previously asked to leave a setting due to his ASD and the staff feeling they couldn't support him. Whereas Honey Pot couldn't have been more welcoming and willing to help him. He is always happy to run in and play and doesn't mind when we leave. My son has developed so much over the last couple of months socially, paying more attention to other children and adults within our family and social circle which is a change that has happened since starting at Honey Pot. We are so happy about the positive developments that our son has started to show since being at Honey Pot. Staff are always great at drop off and pick up, asking what type of day he has had ,so that they can support him appropriately and updating us when we pick him up.” – A parent from Honey Pot Garston

“I visited about 5 different nurseries before deciding on Honey Pot Childwall. We’re really happy with our decision and I can tell my little girl loves it here. I’m pleased with all of the reports, pictures and daily diary communication that we get….our fridge is full of pictures! All of the staff are friendly and approachable and have taken the time to really get to know my little girl well”.

“The staff at the setting are fab, we feel this is reflected in the happiness of our child. well done in becoming so established in such a short period of time!”

“Honey Pot Aigburth has been an absolutely brilliant nursery for my daughter. From the very first settling in session I attended I have had complete confidence in the staff, not only in their ability to look after my daughter practically but also the love, care and attention they give her. My daughter loves going to nursery and is happy when dropped off and picked up! She has learnt so much during her first 9 months at nursery and is constantly surprising me at home with new words and abilities! I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.”

Our History

Honey Pot Nursery Aigburth was established in 2007 by Julie and Tony Hurst. Using their combined expertise in the Early Years sector and business management, they decided to take the plunge and open their first nursery. Tony had spent many years running a successful catering business. Julie had spent years working as a nursery manager in a variety of nursery settings across Liverpool.

The nurseries have been very much a family affair from the very beginning as their youngest daughter Melissa joined them in the nursery in 2007 to gain her childcare qualifications. The following year, their eldest daughter Jenna joined the team during her degree studies in Early Years. Jenna and Melissa are both childcare qualified and have young children of their own, who all attend Honey Pot Nursery and enjoy having their say and opinions included in every day nursery life. Both Jenna and Melissa’s husbands, Michael and Demetri are involved in the running family business.

The family are involved in each of the nurseries every day, they do not manage from a distance and are most definitely ‘hands on’ owners.

Our Philosophy

At Honey Pot, we are influenced by a number of key childcare theorists and pedagogy. Taking parts from Reggio Emilia, Te Whariki with a sprinkle of Montessori and Steiner approaches. We are underpinned by a vision for children that they might be confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit and filled with curiosity and wonder of the world. Our approach is simple, it is our job at Honey Pot to ignite children’s imaginations and curiosity so that they shall enjoy self-directed learning and be thoroughly engaged in play and as a result, deep and purposeful learning shall inevitably take place.

We appreciate that choosing a nursery for your child is an incredibly important decision. We do not take lightly the trust parents place in us when they leave their precious children in our care.
